There was no forgetting that red hair, smug smile, and strange, strange cape. Not under Red’s circumstances, anyways. The infamous champion of the Indigo Plateau, the most renowned dragon tamer, and the next to last person Red had battled during his conquest of the Elite Four. Lance the dragon tamer, the present champion of Kanto and Johto. Unfazed and unimpressed by the smug smile and fluttering cape- why did he wear a cape, anyways? For grandeur? - Red simply lifted his hand in greeting.
Were they going to have a conversation? Probably not, unless it counted when only one of them was talking. In response to this, Red just shrugged.

Don’t judge the cape. The cape’s not judging you.
Red as far as he was aware has never been the chatty type and one fact rings true was that talk never measured how good a pokemon trainer one could be. Red’s title was earned. He’s watched Red and his team grow. The greeting as far as Lance analysed was dry, almost bored. He was caught between inquiring as to whether that was a factor of Red’s stoic personality or perhaps the previous statement rubbed him the wrong way.
There was a level of respect on Lance’s part.
“I must say it’s been a while,” he’ll offer politely
